Dear Friends,
We have all been horrified and deeply saddened by the the gang rape of an 11-year-old Cleveland Girl. This act continues to focus nation-wide attention on this little town but the out pouring of love has been amazing. We must unite to win this fight. Help us bring much needed awareness to our community and the youth that have unanswered questions.

  • We recognize that awareness needs to be focused on a crime that is too easy to hide. We recognize that children need to KNOW that there are people to go to if they are being abused and threatened.
  • A Benefit is being planned to raise funds AND awareness! The working Title is:

After praying last night, tossing a turning to the early morning hours about how we should promote this event I got up this morning and called all my Board members. We all agreed that this event needed to be able to make a huge Impact in many children's lives not just one.
We will keep the title of the Event
Then we as a board will decide the amount of funds we will donate to a trust fund for the 11 year old rape victim when she turns 25. The rest of the funding will go to the Impact Center so we can help other children and our building fund to get the children off the streets. We will set up vendors that will bring much needed awareness on this subject, food vendors, celebrities and lots of bands. Brenda Myers

Headliners so far:
* Bri Bagwell
CMT's Up & Coming Super Stars
Show time: 2pm to 3pm

Bri Bagwell was a recent finalist on the new reality show "CMT Next Superstar" which airs April 8 on CMT. She was one of 10 contestants to compete for the Next Superstar title, participating in elimination challenges each week. She is expecting great PR for her music as the show airs and gains popularity!
Bri was born in Las Cruces, New Mexico to a musical family that has always supported her dreams of making it as a singer/songwriter. Throughout her teen years, she played with her two brothers in bands "On Tap" and "Let it Ride", performing in many southwest venues and even on the Las Vegas strip. After hitting Austin, TX to attend the University of Texas, she picked up guitar (after playing piano/keyboard for years), and has stepped into the music scene. She has opened for many of her influences, including Sean McConnell, Ryan Beaver, Stoney Larue, Josh Grider, and more. After graduating from UT in December of 2009, she is ready to devote her life to her music and writing. She brings her catchy, original tunes and plenty of smiles and laughter to her shows. She is now a part of the Ferrata Music Group roster, and with a new CD in the making, she's ready to take on the scene in her high-heeled boots.

7 X World Champion
Verquan "The Show"
Born in Aliquippa, Pennsylvania on Sept. 10, 1982
Height: 5’ 5” Weight: 135 pounds
Record: 21-1-2, 7 KO’s
Verquan Kimbrough never dreamed of being a professional boxer while growing up the youngest of eight brothers and sisters in Aliquippa, Penn. He wanted to be a football star. His father was a blocking back for Tony Dorsett at Hopewell High School in Aliquippa. The region is the birthplace of many other NFL greats, including Joe Namath, Joe Montana and Dan Marino.
There was just one big problem with Kimbrough’s football dreams. He was always small, way too small for even organized football with his peers. He wrestled in high school – in wrestling he could compete with guys his own size – but he didn’t like the sport. By then he had found an outlet for his athletic abilities – boxing. At age 11, Kimbrough had followed an older brother into a local gym and was immediately fascinated. “I absorbed it like a sponge,” he remembers. “I was only there one week and then I fought in my first amateur tournament. By that point, I realized I was always going to be too small to be a football player.”
Kimbrough excelled as an amateur, compiling a 121-12 record, including national titles in 2000 and 2002. He captured top honors in the 2002 U.S. National AAU Championships as a lightweight, which was the same tournament and weight class that also included former champions such as Aaron Pryor, Pernell Whitaker, Shane Mosley, Oscar De La Hoya and many more future world title holders as professionals.
He learned his craft by sparring with seasoned professionals in Tom Yankello’s gym, including then lightweight world champion Paul Spadafora. “I developed a pro style in the gym so I was very confident when I turned professional.”
Kimbrough turned pro in July 2003 and was handled by a management group who worked at Mountaineer Racetrack in nearby Newell, West Virginia. Kimbrough’s first 12 fights were at the racetrack and he has only fought away from those friendly confines twice. The strategy of staying at home had positive and negative affects to his career. On the positive side, he developed into a legitimate ticket seller, something rare nowadays among pro boxers. On the negative side, it hindered his national exposure. There are still few boxing fans who know of Kimbrough, despite his impressive pro record as well as his glittering amateur background.
During his 6-year pro career, the 26-year-old boxer captured the NABA, USBA and IBC lightweight belts, as well as the NABC Americas super featherweight and featherweight titles.
Kimbrough took a huge step to alter that prior strategy by signing with Roy Jones, Jr’s promotional group, Square Ring, in March and to move his training camp to James Prince’s gym in Houston, Texas.
Kimbrough admits the transition to the pros was tough at times. He was knocked down in his first fight and was also nearly stopped by club-fighter Marty Robbins in the last round of a fight Kimbrough dominated. “It took awhile to adjust to the comfort level of having smaller gloves and no headgear in the pros,” Kimbrough said. “I had trouble with weight issues too. But now maturity has kicked in and it’s time for me to take it to the next level.”
Kimbrough also has taken it to the next level in his personal life. While many athletes his age spend their spare time playing video games and going to clubs, Kimbrough is studying for a business degree. He works six months a year with an uncle as a property tax consultant and plans to eventually take over the same business when his uncle retires. The remainder of his personal time is spent with his two-year old son, Verquan Kimbrough II. The fighter says his son may have more boxing talent than his father. “He’s already throwing right hands,” says Kimbrough with a laugh.
In his last fight this past June, Verquan won an 8-round decision against Justo Sanchez in Oregon in his Square Ring Promotions debut.
